Urban Gardens
The Urban Gardens Initiative aims to bring fresh fruits and vegetables to Park Heights and encourage healthy living among its residents by transforming vacant lots into food-producing gardens. The Urban Gardens Initiative is funded by Park Heights Renaissance, Maryland Cooperative Extension and the Park Heights Community Health Alliance.
At the Urban Garden along Woodland Avenue between Park Heights Avenue and Reisterstown Road, residents are growing fresh greens, corn, squash, hot and green peppers, watermelons and strawberries. The Urban Gardens also act as an important learning environment for the youngest Park Heights residents to give them the tools to enjoy an active, healthy lifestyle.
If you or someone you know in the community is interested in becoming a plot holder, please contact our office at 410.664.4890.
